Thing 11 = Library thing! LT has photos of book covers for visual learners like me! Let's add covers to OCL's OPAC! I would like to create a blog widget for my blog soon but am feeling frustrated by lack of time, as I am far behind where I would like to be in this challenge to date... LT is a handy way to organize the lists of authors whose books I would like to read next and easier than searching through the pages of Carolyn Hart's latest Death on Demand mystery... Thing 10 = Technology blogging OCL needs to blend age groups in our community by partnering Seniors [60+ patrons born before 1946] with Generation Y [teens 13 to 17, born between 1989 to 1994] and Generation Next [18 to 25 year olds, born between 1981 and 1988]. Generation Next is described by The Pew Research Center for the People and the Press as "the cohort of young adults who have grown up with personal computers, cell phones and the internet and are now taking their place in a world where the only constant is rapid change." Working together, generations would combine technological and writing skills, while exploring and understanding values of importance to each set of people. [technology blogging, thing10, week5]

Thing 9 = Finding Feeds
There once was a librarian from Ocean
Who dreamt of a feed finding notion.
She wrote in her blog;
Now she's starting to bog
Down in the marshes, not ocean.

Thing 8 = RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. Most newsreader links created by large businesses were easy to add to Bloglines. Some feeder lines made by individuals or small businesses were more difficult to link, requiring several attempts.
RSS saves time, in locating and organizing current information.
