Thing 15 = Web 2.0 is
simple to use by anyone who finds internet access,
may be self taught,
is interactive,
has become necessary to modern life,
but strikes me as a modern equivalent to fiction and nonfiction stories around the campfire, now a global campfire.
Two quotes from Tom Storey:
"A record 6 billion searches were conducted on search engines in January 2006."

"You and your mobile and nonmobile devices—PDA, MP3, laptop, cell phone, camera, PC, TV, etc.—are always online, connected to one another and to the Web."
So...why are PDAs, MP3s, cell phones, and cameras banned and taken away from students in school? Let's embrace and use technology! No, I don't think anyone should talk loudly on a cell phone in public and especially not in class. Yes, I'm aware that camera phones may photograph a quiz or test, to pass to other students. Adults should set good examples of character and act as tech mentors and guides for young adults.
At the two OCL locations where I've worked, staff and customers' use of mobile and nonmobile devices has been encouraged and accepted. Although noise may be disruptive at times, technology connects our communities.
